Gideon to Build New, 73,000 SF Manufacturing Facility for Prinsco in Valdosta

Prinsco is a third-generation, family-owned company that provides quality, water management solutions. Beginning in 1975 as a manufacturer of cement pipes, the company quickly transitioned to HDPE plastic products to better serve the needs of its Midwestern agricultural market. Over the last several decades, Prinsco has grown from its flagship manufacturing facility located in Prinsburg, Minnesota, into an 8-plant network throughout the United States.

Prinsco began looking for locations to open its ninth manufacturing plant to support the company’s continued expansion in the stormwater market. They focused on location in the Southeast as it has been overlooked and under-served by the industry. Pinsco ultimately chose the City of Valdosta due to its central location in the Southeast U.S. and beautiful community.

Prinsco purchased an 80-acre site in Valdosta in 2023 and plans to build a 73,000-square-foot facility to produce corrugated High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene (PP) pipe.

While Prinsco met with the Industrial Authority to look at potential sites/buildings for a new manufacturing facility, Gideon met with them at several sites and advised on budgets for the different properties, including a new building on a greenfield site. Prinsco ultimately decided to move forward with a design-build format with a guaranteed maximum price and contracted with Gideon shortly after.

Construction on the state-of-the-art facility began in October 2023 and is anticipated to be ready for production by the 4th quarter of 2024.

Gideon is thrilled to be a part of this important project for our hometown of Valdosta, GA! To learn more about this project, click here.
